Milford Jethro Howell
May 3, 1922 – July 16, 2017
Milford Jethro Howell, 95, of Wilson passed away Sunday. His funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2519 Airport Boulevard West, Wilson. Interment will follow in Springhill Presbyterian Church, 7335 Springfield Road, Lucama. The Rev. Joe Shakour and Rev. Mike Bennett will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Wilson and other times at the home of his daughter, Donna, 3615 Trotters Drive West.
Milford was the son of JE Howell and Ila Howell. Milford was a PFC with the US Army Veteran from 1943 – 1945 during the WWII, who served his country with honor and pride. He loved his God and his church where he was a charter member of Tabernacle Baptist Church since August 16, 1955. Milford was retired from Watson Electric of Wilson. He was the first Board member of Wilson Christian School, the American Legion Post 13 and a member of AARP.
Milford is survived by his wife, Nellie Joyner Howell of the home; his daughters, Donna Fountain and husband, Jim of Wilson, and Linda Harrison and husband, R.S. of Bailey; his grandchildren, Angela Fountain of Cary, Renee Enterline and husband, Chris of Wake Forest, and Trey Harrison and wife, Rachel of Greensboro; his great-grandsons, Cole and Riley Harrison, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to all of his caregivers in Wilson, and SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
