Mindy Davis Pierce January 23, 1979 – August 9, 2020 Mindy Davis Pierce lost her three-year courageous battle with cancer Sunday, August 9, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Mindy was a beloved wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, and friend to so many. She had the most beautiful blue eyes. Mindy was a dedicated Duke Blue Devil basketball fan; she could clear the room at home when they played ball. Mindy was dedicated to her home health patients and always made sure they had what was needed even if it came out of her own pocket. Mindy enjoyed being competitive and encouraged others to participate in 5K’s, Triathlons, Mud Runs and Marathons. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Pierce, sons; Tanner and Colt Pierce; parents, Janice and Ronnie Davis; siblings; Anthony Davis (Theresa Larson) and Treg Davis and wife, Brittany Davis; nieces, Katelyn Davis and Peyton Davis; nephews, Austin Davis and Mason Davis; grandparents, Nell Thorpe, James and Ruth Bailey and Billy and Betty Davis; in-laws, Randy and Peggy Rouse and Doug and Patricia Pierce and her beloved longtime best friend, Lorie Hawkins and husband, David. A special thank you to the late Dr. Matthew Strouch, Dr. Jeremiah Boles, Jamie Banwell, Rick Gray, Dr. Hope Uronis, Margot O’Neill, Kristen Brown with Helms Home Care, and Ashley, Barbie, Kristy, Tara, and Marquita with 3HC. Her funeral will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Stantonsburg Town Cemetery, Stantonsburg. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening immediately following the service and other times at the home.
