Minnie Thorne Winborne

Minnie Thorne Winborne, 91, of Sims, passed away peacefully on Wednesday. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Ray Wells will officiate.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, as well as other times at the home of Jean W. Bass.

 

Minnie is survived by her sons, Quince M. Watson and wife, Annette of Lucama and James (Jamie) M. Winborne III of Sims; daughters, Jean Watson Bass of Sims and Donna Winborne of Wilson; grandchildren, Susan Watson Pittman, Matthew Watson, Rebecca Bass Hinshaw, Brian Bass and Ashley Winborne, as well as ten great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James M. Winborne, Jr.; her first husband, M. Merle Watson; parents, Josh and Ella Thorne; grandson, James E. Bass and her sisters, Esther T. Watson, Mavis T. Miller, Maia T. Eggert and Helen T. Baker.

 

Flowers are welcome, as well as memorial donations made in Minnie’s name to Spring Hill Presbyterian Church, 7335 Springfield School Road, Lucama, North Carolina, 27851.
