Mitchell Warren Anderson April 28, 1943 – September 22, 2018 Mitchell Warren Anderson, 75 of Elm City passed away Saturday. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 612 Vance Street NE, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson with military honors. The Rev. John Drosendahl will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson and other times at the home. Mitchell was a disabled Vietnam Veteran that was drafted and served his country with honor and pride in the U.S. Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all that knew him. Mitchell enjoyed the outdoors and he loved to fish and was an avid fan of the Carolina “TarHeel” basketball and Atlanta Braves baseball. He will be dearly missed and thought of often with loving memories. Mitchell is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Judy B. Anderson of the home; his daughter, Juanita D. Anderson and life partner, Michael Patterson of Elm City; grandsons, Gary W. Crowder, Jr. of Elm City and Garrett L. Moore of Elm City; great-granddaughter, Olivia Crowder of Elm City and his brothers, Robert L. Anderson, Neal Anderson and Doug Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Hazel Pearl Whitman Anderson.
