Nancy Bass Boykin

 Nancy Bass Boykin, 93, of Wilson passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024. Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Pastor Morgan Daughety will officiate.

 The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1-1:45pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

 Nancy was a true Southern lady and a woman of many talents whether designing fashions for her daughters or assembling masterful floral arrangements for her community.

 Nancy inherited a love for nature, cultivating numerous gardens for her family, friends, and her own home. Her husband, James, was always by her side, assisting with mowing, laying brick pathways, and pulling weeds. The weekends often concluded with grilling under the carport.

 At the age of 70, Nancy discovered a new passion for painting and was guided by her beloved teacher, Oona Lewis, for 23 years.

 Her most cherished treasure was her grandson, Cullen Lea, and she never missed a moment of his life. Nancy Bass Boykin always maintained her curiosity and zest for life. She will be greatly missed.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Catherine Boykin Lea and Susan Boykin Sirianni and her husband, Richard; her grandson, William Cullen Lea and her sister, Edith Carter.

 She was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-two years, James Wilbert Boykin; her mother, Carrie Bell Barnes and father, William Bass, and her sister Barbara Lamm.
