Nell McLean Mitchell

Nell McLean Mitchell October 17, 1938 – May 11, 2021 Nell McLean Mitchell, 82 of Wilson passed away Tuesday. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The Rev. Kelley Smart will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon prior to the service from 2 – 2:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Nell was retired from the Wilson County Residential Services. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. Nell will be dearly missed. Nell is survived by her sons, Stewart Mitchell and wife, Sharon, Mark Mitchell, and Scot Mitchell and wife, Tracy all of Wilson; grandson, Abbott Mitchell and wife, Erin and Ethan Mitchell both of Wilson; great-grandchildren, Sam, Ace and Penny Mitchell all of Wilson; sister, Sue Newcomb and husband, Henry of Wilson, and special nieces, Jane Connor, Kitty Barnes, Sandra Newcomb, and Stephanie Matas, along with many other nieces and nephews she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Boylston McLean; sisters, Ruby Bain, Betty Jo Bradshaw, Pat Floyd, and Kathleen Sasser, and her brother, Everette “Bubba” McLean.
