Nettie Mae Joyner Batchelor

Nettie Mae Joyner Batchelor August 9, 1926 – November 22, 2015 Nettie Mae Joyner Batchelor, 89, a resident of Wilson House and formerly of 4122 Beland Avenue passed away Sunday. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elm City. The Rev. Marvin Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of Lessie Frey, 4228 Westerly Court, Elm City. Nettie Mae is survived by her daughters, Lessie Frey and husband, Jerry of Elm City, Janice Tedder and husband, Bobby of Lucama, and Nancy Crumpler and husband, Edwin of Wilson; her sons, Johnny H. Batchelor and wife, Lisa of Elm City, Bobby Batchelor and wife, Donna of Wilson, Leon Batchelor and wife, Faye of Wilson, and Roger Batchelor and wife, Joy of Lucama; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Astor Batchelor; her son, Ronald Lee Batchelor; parents, Frank Russell Joyner and Daisy Mae Cockrell; one sister, and two brothers.
