Newton Rose, Jr.

Newton Rose, Jr. (NJ) went to his heavenly home August 24, 2024, peacefully in the care of family and SECU Hospice House. He was born June 28, 1941, to his late parents Alice and Newton Rose in Selma, North Carolina and spent most of his life in the Smithfield area. He was an expert in the tire service industry for many years. In his later years, he found Wilson Assisted Living home and experienced loving friendships. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, church family, and listening to live music, especially traditional gospel singing.

Newton is survived by his daughters, Lachelle Parker and husband, Derward, Cathy Narron, Lisa Murray and husband, Dow, and Felicia Novakovich and husband, Steve; his grandchildren, Blake Narron and wife, Lindsay, Scottie Narron and wife, Courtney, Mandy Narron, Sarah Hodges, Cameron Murray, Jada Novakovich, and Isabelle Parker; great-grandchildren, Masyn, Havyk, Finley (aka Princess), Tucker, Jamison and Jason; his siblings, Jean Landreth and Johnny Paul, Dennis Rose, Gladys Davis, Janie Worley and Joe and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in departing from this life by his parents, his sister, Faye Neilson, and brothers, Jimmy and Danny Rose.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Marsh Swamp OFWB Church, 6664 Rock Ridge School Road, Sims, North Carolina. The family will receive visitors in the fellowship hall 3:30 – 6:30 pm.
