Nona Taylor Boswell
May 6, 1926 – January 29, 2015
Nona Taylor Boswell, 88, of Lucama passed away Thursday. Her funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. Sefton Strickland will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon 1:45 – 2:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the residence.
Nona was a teacher for over fifty years in Johnston and Wilson County. She was a member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church for fifty-three years and she held several positions with the Presbyterian Women at Spring Hill Church. Nona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
Nona is survived by her daughter, Linda Boswell Barnes and husband, Robert of Kenly; her sons, Gerald Thomas Boswell and wife, Teresa of Lucama and Jeffrey Jon Boswell and wife, Debbie of Concord; her granddaughter, Catherine Boswell; grandsons, Robbie Barnes, Greg Barnes and wife, Kim, Allen Boswell and wife, Alisha and Taylor Boswell and Samantha; her great-granddaughter, Bentley Barnes; great-grandsons, Daylon Barnes and Colton Barnes; her sisters, Doris Lucas and husband, Earl, Margie Turner and husband, Albert and Janice Barnes and husband, Scott all of Lucama and her brother, Jimmy Taylor and wife, Gayle of Kenly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Boswell; her parents, Luther and Callie Smith Taylor and her sister, Shirley Godwin.
