Obie Levi Parker

Obie Levi Parker September 5, 1932 – January 8, 2019 Obie Levi Parker, 86 of Wilson passed away Tuesday. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Marsh Swamp Original FWB Church Cemetery, Rock Ridge. The Rev. Ray Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Obie served his country with honor and pride with the U.S. Army. He was a faithful and devoted member of Marsh Swamp FWB Church. For over forty years he taught Science in the Wilson and Johnston County schools. Obie is survived by his daughter, Shari Barnes Parker of Raleigh; brother, Donnie R. Parker and wife, Joan of Sims; dear special friend, Michelle Price of Raleigh; nephew, Mark Parker and wife, Kristi of Garner; great nephew, Brady Parker of Garner and several aunts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Barnes Parker and his parents, Levi Thomas and Thelma Owens Parker.
