Olive Duff Sessoms
August 18, 1925 – May 30, 2016
Olive Duff Sessoms, 90, of Elm City passed away Monday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Westview Baptist church on Sunset Avenue in Rocky Mount. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Nashville. The Rev. Bill Coffey will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1- 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Olive served her Lord and Savior all of her life as a Missionary in Brazil. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Olive is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Thomas Sessoms of the home; her children, Gloria Corbett and husband Luke of Wendell; John A. Sessoms of Elm City; Philip Sessoms and wife Helen of Raleigh; Patricia Linton and husband Vernon of Wilson; grand children, Elizabeth Mehalko and husband, Joe, Olivia Sessoms and fiancé, Jeremy, John D. Sessoms and wife Aly, Kevin Corbett and wife Nikki and Heather Corbett; great granddaughter, Lily Ann Sessoms; neice, Irene Martin and husband Robbie of Ireland; nephews, Alan Forsyth and Gordon Watts.
She was preceded in death by sisters; Kathleen Watts and Aileen Forsythe and Daughter-in-law, Michelle Ann Sessoms.
