Owen T. Wise, 83, of Wilson passed away Sunday.-Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner-s Funeral Home.-A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park.-The Rev. Mark Woolard will officiate.-/p>

The family will receive friends Monday evening immediately following the service at Joyner-s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road-Parkway and other times will be at the residence.

Owen served his country honorably as a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.-He retired as a District Sales Manager with Western and Southern Financial Group.-His memberships included the Evening Kiwanis Club, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.-Owen was a Kentucky Colonel.-He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Celia Simmons Wise; two daughters, Sue W. Daniels and husband, Michael of Wanchese and D. Kay Jennings and husband, Mark of Christiansburg, VA; six grandchildren, Brodie Witt, Logan Witt, Joshua Daniels, Micah Daniels, Sarah Joy Daniels, and Sadie Daniels; two stepdaughters, Amber I. Varnell and husband, Jim of Elm City and April I. Ricklefs and husband, Dick of Charleston, SC; and two step-grandchildren, Misty Varnell and Dana Varnell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlcie and Mable W. Wise.
