Patricia Bridgers Harriss August 15, 1943 – January 21, 2016 Patricia Bridgers Harriss, 72, of Angier, passed away on January 21, 2016. She was born in Wilson on August 15, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Helen Bridgers, and by her husband of fifty years, Herbert Henry Harriss, III. Patricia was a 1961 graduate of Fike High School in Wilson, and studied art at RPI (now VCU) in Richmond, Virginia, and Atlantic Christian College (now Barton) in Wilson. She was an active member of Angier United Methodist Church. Patricia taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and attended church conferences. She was active in her community. Patricia and her late husband, Henry, volunteered at Stage Coach Manor Rest Home which she continued after his death. She is survived by her four children, Mary Snow Hill and husband Bill, of Greenville, Bridget Harriss Stewart and husband, George of Angier, William James Harriss of Clayton, and Nathan Hooks Harriss and wife, Wendy of Davie, Florida; three grandsons, Matthew Supple, George Stewart, Jr. and Zander Harriss; two step-grandsons, Frazier and Charlie Hill; a sister, Mary Christian Rand and a brother, John Bridgers. The family will receive friends at Angier United Methodist Church, 278 South Wilma Street on Tuesday, January 26 at 5:00pm. A memorial service and refreshments will follow. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 27 at 3:30pm at Maplewood Cemetery 400 College Street, Wilson. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Angier United Methodist Church, 278 South Wilma Street Angier, North Carolina 27501. Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net
