Pattie Elizabeth Saunders Wheeler, 93 of Wilson passed away Tuesday. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 in Stantonsburg Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Pattie is survived by her daughter, Ann Wheeler Beamon of Wilson; son, Walter Keith Wheeler and wife, Debbie of Wilson; son, Jerry Wayne Wheeler of Wilson; sister, Margaret Saunders Thorne of Wilson; grandchildren, Angie Gossett and husband, Robert, Sierra Wheeler, Austin Wheeler, Chase Wheeler and Peyton Wheeler and great grandchildren; Shae Gossett and wife Ashlyn and Lea Gossett; and great-great grandson, Archer Wheeler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Howard “Shorty” Wheeler; parents, Willie and Maggie Saunders; sister, Callie Saunders Bass; brothers, Joe Saunders, Willie Green Saunders and Durwood Saunders, and several other loving family members that are thought of and in memory.
