Paul Barnes Goforth

Paul Barnes Goforth, 86, of Wilson, formerly of Raleigh, passed away Saturday.  His funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery, 761 N Raleigh Street, Rocky Mount.   The family will receive friends 7 – 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.   Paul graduated from Elm City High School in 1946 and then attended the University of Richmond where he received his Business Degree in 1959.   In 1961 Paul graduated from RPI, a branch of William and Mary where he earn his Bachelor of Science and Business Administration degree.  Paul was retired as both a finance manager and tax collector for Durham County.   Paul is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Elizabeth Tosto Goforth of the home and his granddaughter, Laura Katherine Butler of Grand Junction, Colorado.   He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paulette Tosto Goforth Butler and his parents, Harrison Foy Goforth and Bertie Barnes Goforth.   Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
