Peggy Jean Harrell Winstead Hocum

Peggy Jean Harrell Winstead Hocum, 64, of Wilson passed away Wednesday evening with her children by her side. Funeral services will be conducted 6 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Matthew Horne will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her. She was greatly loved and will be missed and thought of every day. Peggy was a retired LPN with Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center in Wilson and a member of the Wilson Moose Lodge. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Crystal G. Terrell and husband, Luther of Wilson; her son, Michael Brewer and fiancée, Michelle of Black Creek; her sister by choice, Stephanie Hudnell and husband, Ray; her granddaughters, Destiney Johnson, Shanique Terrell and Allyson Owens and her grandsons, Kevin Johnson, Jr. and Johnathan Owens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Winstead, former owner of Bob Winstead’s Used Cars; her sister, Diana Harrell Lucas and her brothers, Donnie, Ronnie, Hilton and Milton Harrell.
