Peggy Turnage Raper June 14, 1937 – February 17, 2016 Peggy Turnage Raper, 78, of Wilson passed away Wednesday. Her funeral service will be conducted 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Entombment will be held 11a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Justin Deeter will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of her son, Alan. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend to all that knew her. She was a beautician for forty-one years and was the owner of Peggy’s Hairstyling. Peggy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed and thought of often with loving memories that will warm the heart. Peggy is survived by her sons, Robert “Al” Alan Raper and wife, Darla and Steven “Steve” Gene Raper and wife, Leslie both of Wilson; granddaughters, Stephanie Raper, Mary Catherine Raper; grandsons, Eric Raper, Brandon Raper, Colby Raper, and Moreland Williams; sisters-in-law, Marie Barnette and husband, Joe, Dorothy Turnage, Mary Smith and husband, Bruce, and Margaret Smith, and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Raper. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Gene Austin Raper; sister-in-law, Letha Raper; brothers-in-law, Freeman Turnage, and Charles Smith, and her beloved companion, Sweetie.
