Penny Ida Boykin Coleman

Penny Ida Boykin Coleman July 24, 1918 - April 20, 2017   Penny Ida Boykin Coleman, 98 of Sims passed away Thursday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Healthy Plains Primitive Baptist Church, Sims.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Elder Randall Saunders will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Ida is survived by her daughters, Sandra Sullivan of Kenly, and Jo-Anne Bass of Wilson; her sons, Harold Coleman and wife, Kay of Raleigh, and Michael Coleman and wife, Ann of Knightdale; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and her brother, Louis Boykin of Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Coleman; sisters, Minnie Dawson, and Pattie Mae Turner, and her brothers, Jiles Boykin, Jarvie Boykin, Julian Boykin, and Hardy Boykin.
