Poppy Louise Wells Nichols
September 5, 1931 – April 12, 2018
Poppy Louise Wells Nichols, 86, of Sims passed away Thursday. Her funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sims Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6249 Main Street, Sims. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Vernon E. Potter, Jr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 – 10:45 p.m. at Sims Pentecostal Holiness Church, Sims.
Poppy is survived by her daughters, Joyce “Jo” G. Lamm and husband, Ricky, and Willis Teen Lamm and husband, Teddy; her grandchildren, Greg Lamm, Amy Lamm, and Lori Bunn; her great-grandchildren, Nikki Bailey, Randy Bailey, Gregory Lamm, Teddy Russell Holland, and Robert Allen, Jr.; and her brothers, Kermit “Pete” M. Wells and wife, Joyce, and Eddie Ray Wells, and his daughter, Kristen; “Betty Jo”, a special friend who was like a daughter and was always there for Poppy, known as “Grandma”, and Donnie Nichols and wife, Betty of Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willis Glover, and Cecil Nichols; granddaughter, Dena Louise Lamm; parents, Edgar and Clyde Mae Wells, and her brother, Garland Wells.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Poppy’s memory to Sims Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6249 Main Street, Sims, North Carolina 27880.
