Portia Joyner Hardison

Portia Joyner Hardison, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 29.  Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2 from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home in Wilson, NC.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 2 at 2:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  Interment will be on Wednesday, May 3 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson, NC.  Reverend Kenneth Wagnon will officiate.

Portia is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, A.C. Hardison; son, Al Hardison and wife, Nancy of Wilson; daughter, Jennifer Klingel and husband, Kevin of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, Connor Hardison and husband, Jay of Wilson, Bailey Hardison and Jason Acevedo of Wilson, Hunter Klingel of Chapel Hill, and Zachary Klingel of Chapel Hill; and great-grandson, Mason Acevedo of Wilson.

Portia was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Iva Joyner; brothers, Clinton Joyner and Otha Joyner; and sisters, Justine Thorne and Pat Connour.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, 409 Atlantic Christian College Drive, Wilson, NC 27893.
