Priscilla Gholson Robertson

Priscilla Gholson Robertson February 19, 1922 – May 19, 2019 Priscilla Gholson Robertson, 97, died May 19, 2019.  Priscilla was born in Oxford to Grover Durelle Gholson and Thelma Averette Gholson.  She worked as a church secretary and as a legal secretary.  This career enabled her to use her people skills and kind, loving nature when helping clients.  She was a devoted wife and mother who treasured her family.  Her favorite place to be was at Topsail Beach with those she loved.  She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and deacon.  She was an avid bridge player and loved her garden club. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Francis Dillon Robertson; her brother, Grover Durelle Gholson, Jr. and sister, Marjorie Gholson Watkins. Priscilla is survived by her three children, Priscilla Robertson Hudson and husband, Marcus of Chapel Hill, Francis Dillon Robertson, Jr. and wife, Karen of Winston-Salem and Gay Robertson Cox and husband, Brad of Wilson; sister, Judy Gholson of Danville, Kentucky and many special nieces and nephews.  She was so very proud of her five grandchildren, Nathan Robertson (Michelle) of Baltimore, Maryland, Anne McCloud (Chad) of Atlanta, Georgia, Katherine Holland (Mark) of Pittsboro, Matthew Cox (Stephanie) of Virginia Beach and Sarah Beth Deans (Lewis) of Wilmington.  In her later years she got pure joy out of her eleven great-grandchildren who loved “Grandy” and “GG” dearly.  She will be missed by all. Her family would like to thank a dear friend, Jackie Farmer, who cared for “Miss Priscilla” in her time of need. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, 414 Sunset Road, Wilson.  Rev. Tom Watkins will officiate.  A reception will be held immediately following the service in the Dudley Room.
