Rachel Mae Bissette Murray April 8, 1921 – December 21, 2016 Rachel Mae Bissette Murray, 95, of Spring Hope, began her heavenly journey on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Rachel is the daughter of Jodie and Rella Morgan Bissette. Her funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at White Oak Hill FWB Church, 3967 W Hornes Church Road, Bailey. The Rev. Reuben Cason and Rev. Barry Gardner will officiate. The family would like to invite you to honor Mrs, Murray with a memorial contribution to White Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church at 3967 West Hornes Church Road, Bailey, N.C. 27807. The family will receive friends Thursday evening following the service at White Oak Hill FWB Church and other times at the home of her daughters, Dottie Massey and Ann Pitts. Rachel’s first love was her Lord and Savior, and then her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Rachel was a wonderful cook and loved her hobbies of crocheting, quilting, and fishing at the Outer Banks. She attended Spring Hope High School and retired from Southern Nash High School after serving sixteen years in the cafeteria. Rachel was a lifelong member of Floods Chapel FWB until fours ago when she joined White Oak Hill FWB, with her daughters. Rachel is survived by her daughters, Dottie Massey and husband, Rudell, and Anne Pitts and husband, Dewey both of Spring Hope; her grandchildren, Curt Massey, Lamara Massey Hall, Lisa Snow and husband, Garry, and Lori Perry and husband, Joey; great-grandchildren, Jamie Massey Driver and husband, Robbie, Morgan Massey, Hunter Perry, Rachel Perry, and Skylar Barnes; great-great-grandchildren, Bryson and Ayden Driver, and her brother, David Bissette and wife, Mavis of Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Murray; granddaughter, Tammy Massey; her brothers, J.D. Bissette and wife, Leigh, and Elijah Bissette and wife, Grace; and grand daughter-in-law, Tonya Massey. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff of Dr. Greg Rose and Dr. Christine Barton for years of their care and all her care givers for the kindness and love they showed her.
