Ralph A. Ellis
July 3, 1933 – March 27, 2018
Ralph A. Ellis, 84 of Wilson died Tuesday. His funeral service will be conducted at 11a.m. Saturday, March 31st, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The Rev. Dr. Tom Watkins will officiate. Masonic Memorial Rites will follow. The family will receive friends following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.
A US Navy Veteran, Ralph retired from the US Treasury as a Special Agent in Charge of the ATF. He was the Past Master of Mt. Lebanon Lodge 17, Past President International Shrine Horse Patrol Association.
Ralph is survived by his daughter, Jolyn E. Crane and husband, Bruce of Wake Forest; his son, David R. Ellis and wife, Alice of Wilson; granddaughters, Leslie Ellis of Hickory, and Morgan Crane of Raleigh; his grandsons, Barrett Ellis and fiancé, Ashlyn Lewis, of Chocowinity and Aaron Ellis of Wilson; sisters, Nadine Zahare of Hepzibah, Georgia, and Patricia Quick of Raeford, and his brother, Lemuel J. Ellis of Madison, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Polly Bess Daniel Ellis.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Ralph’s memory to Sudan Shriners Hospital for Children, 403 East Front Street, New Bern, North Carolina 28560, Masonic Home for Children, 600 College Street, Oxford, North Carolina 27565 or the First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 3184, Wilson, North Carolina 27895.
