Raymond P. Harris
July 26, 1937 – June 6, 2015
Raymond P. Harris, 77, of Wilson passed away Saturday June 6th, in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Inurnment will be private in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Raymond loved nothing more than playing a round of golf, or a hand of cards, with his buddies. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, grilling out and socializing. Raymond worked as a salesman in the trucking industry for most of his life. In addition, he was employed with Abrams Catering for several years, the Wilson Daily Times early in his professional life, and ended his work career as a Safety Officer at PLT Utilities. Raymond was always involved in the Wilson community, giving his time and energy to many organizations, especially his cherished Breakfast Optimist Club of Wilson.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Laura Harris Clark and husband, Craig; his granddaughter, Alexis Clark, and grandson, Jackson Clark, all of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn M. “Jackie” Harris; his mother, Clyde B. Harris; and his father, Paul L. Harris.
