Rebecca "Becky" Jean Womble

Former Wilson resident and retired Physical Therapy Assistant, Rebecca Jean “Becky” Womble, passed away from natural causes in a faith-based hospital in Tampa, FL on Friday July 22, 2022, at the age of 80.  Becky was surrounded by love and joined her predeceased family members in her purest form.

Becky was born in Wilson County, NC on February 18, 1942. She is survived by her loving Daughter and Son-in-Law Lisa (Shingleton) and Frank Palumbo of Tampa, FL, her Grandchildren Kathleen and Christopher Barrett (Tampa, FL) and Jacquelyn Palumbo (Brooklyn, NY);  her Great-grandchildren Linden Copersito and Jovie Barrett of Tampa, FL;  her Brother, Ervin Wells (Joyce) and Sister, Faye Morgan both from Wilson, NC;  her cherished nieces Renee Wells Brookshire (Rev Thomas), Mary Pittman (Sam) and her beloved nephew Earl Morgan, Jr. (Sharon) -  as well as many extended family members. 

Becky loved the simple things in life - Sunday dinners, car rides, animals of all kinds and watching NASCAR driver Kyle Busch on race days. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Equbal Kalani and his staff for their amazing care. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2 from 1:00-2:30pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway West, Wilson, NC 27896.  A private service surrounded by her immediate family members will be held at a later date with the Reverend Thomas Brookshire officiating.  Condolences can be sent to the family via Joyner’s Funeral home www.joyner's.net.
