Rebecca Love Mumford Hellard
February 28, 1965 – February 11, 2018
Rebecca “Becky” Love Mumford Hellard, 52, of Elm City on Sunday was suddenly privileged to go home. We miss her but we know she is much happier in her heavenly home.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 1407 Forest Hills Road, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Justin Deeter and Rev. Ray Barnhill will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Becky earned a Batchelor Degree in Nursing at Atlantic Christian College (now Barton) and was a registered nurse at Wilson Medical Center for over thirty years. She treasured family and her countless numbers of friends. Becky also loved cooking, nursing, the beach and most importantly her Lord.
Becky is survived by her husband, John Michael Hellard of the home; her daughter, Anna Love Hellard of Elm City; mother, Faye Love Mumford of Lucama; sister, Lisa Williams (Brad) of Rocky Mount, her brothers-in-law, Jerry Hellard of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Chris Hellard (Celeste) of Franklinton; sister-in-law, Jenni Adams (Teddy)of Hiddenite; her nieces and nephews, Courtney and McKenzie Williams, Kameron and Taylor Hellard, Ben and Madison Hellard, Dylan and Ryan Adams, and her aunts, uncles, cousins, and two special girls Emma and Ella.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Ray Mumford, her in-laws, John and Dotty Hellard, and her grandparents, Jim and Doretha Mumford, Wiley and Pearl Love.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Becky’s honor to Gideon’s International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, Tennessee or the Baptist Children’s Home, PO Box 338, Thomasville, North Carolina 27361-0338.
