Gordon R. Sebastian March 22, 1932 – March 22, 2018 Rev. Gordon R. Sebastian, 86 of Wilson passed away Thursday. His funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Peace Church, 2838 Tilghman Road, Wilson. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Rusty Russell will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening prior to the service from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. at Peace Church, Wilson, and other times at the home of Dana McFarland, his granddaughter. Rev. Sebastian pastored for over fifty-three years, including forty years at Peace Church. He served his country honorable and faithfully with the U.S. Navy. Rev. Sebastian is survived by his daughter, Deborah Lamm and husband, Tim of Wilson; his sons, Rev. Bobby Sebastian and wife, Delayne of Cookeville, Tennessee, and Tony Sebastian and wife, Dana of Yantai, China; granddaughters, Dana P. McFarland of Rocky Mount, and Valeria Salinas of Wilson; grandsons, Rev. Brad Perry of Wilson, Josh Sebastian of Tampa, Florida, Jason Sebastian of Cookeville, Tennessee, Rev. Ryan Sebastian of Lumberton, and Evan Sebastian of York, Pennsylvania; eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Hales Sebastian of fifty-five years, and his son-in-law, Tyras J. Perry. In lieu of flowers the family requested donations in Rev. Sebastian’s memory to Peace Church, Faith Promise Mission Fund, 2838 Tilghman Road, Wilson, North Carolina 27896. Condolences may be directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home at www.joyners.net.
