Rev. John Martin Bowman

Rev. John Martin Bowman October 15, 1935 – March 19, 2015 Rev. John Martin Bowman, 79, of Wilson passed away Thursday. His funeral service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Monday at Winstead United Methodist Church, 1407 S Tarboro Street, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Paul Dunham and Rev. Richard Lewis will officiate. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the residence. Rev. Bowman served several Methodist Churches for over twenty-five years. Rev. Bowman is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Fayette Smith Bowman of the home; his daughters, Gail Mahan (Mike) of Wilson and Rhonda Hanssen (Rich) of Italy; his sons, Wally Bowman (Karen) of Zebulon and Marty Bowman (Cindy) of Newport; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Virginia Meadows of Weyers Cave, Virginia and Audrey Eye of Harrisonburg, Virginia and his brother, Dallas Bowman of Roanoke, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Earl and Delilah Arlene Chapman Bowman and brother, David Bowman.
