Rev. Matthew J. Horne October 18, 1970 - October 2, 2016 Matthew Horne, 45, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 2, 2016. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, October 6th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Joyner’s Funeral Home in Wilson, NC. Rev. D.A. Leonard, Rev. Bishop Danny Nelson and Assit. Bishop Doug Bartlett will officiate. Burial will follow in The Waddell Family Cemetery, Springhill Church Road, Lucama, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening,October 5th, from 7:00 til 9:00 PM at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson NC, and other times at their home, 8325 Healthy Plains Church Road, Sims, NC. Matt was known for his unwavering dedication to his Savior, family, friends and his church. His mission in life was to share the hope of Jesus Christ with others. He was serious about his faith, but he also loved to laugh and make others laugh, was known for pranking and a lot of good-natured teasing. Matt was Senior Pastor of Belfast P.H. Church. He loved and adored his church and the members there, whom he considered his family. This is where he devoted most of his time, with his wife and son by his side. Matt was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, Pastor and friend. He will certainly be missed for his infectious smile, laugh, humor, jokes and the way he’d brighten up any place with his presence. To know Matt was to love him. Matt is survived by his loving wife, Beverly W. Horne of 22 years; his son, Bricen; Mother and Father, Mary and Bennie Ray Horne, Sr.; Special Loving Family Friend, Vonnie Parrish; Brother, Bennie Ray Horne, Jr. and wife Sharon; two neices, Amanda and Kelly Horne. He was preceeded in death by his Grandparents, Wesley and Roxie Webb, and Lovie and Goldie Horne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Belfast P.H.
