Richard James Brock, III

Richard James Brock, III February 23, 1953 – May 19, 2020 Richard James Brock, III, “Ricky” lived 67 years. Richard’s memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Rev. Jack Stone will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. He was born February 23, 1953, the oldest son of Richard James Brock, Jr. and Odell Brock and on May 19, 2020, he took his flight to Jesus where he has no more pain and is celebrating there with the saints. Ricky is survived by his sister, Jackie B. Estep and husband, Larry; brother, Tony M. Brock and wife, Anita; nephew, Jason Brock and wife, Angie; nieces, Chrystal E. Kowack and husband Bill, Candice E. Stander and husband, Steven and Jessica B. Hom and husband, Brian and his great nephews and nieces, Luke and Skyler Stander, James, Kathryn and Daniel Hom, Trey Kowack, and Beau, Dylan and Cole Brock. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Lynn Brock “Debbie” and his parents, Richard James Brock, Jr. and Odell Brock. Ricky was an amazing artist whose talents were acknowledged and admired in the community at a very young age. He enjoyed drawing, painting, woodworking, drafting and model ship building. He was extremely talented in woodworking and like his father before him, could take scraps of lumber and create a masterpiece fit for a king. You could often find him in his shop working on special projects, bringing to life these little treasures with his brush strokes of bold color. Ricky truly was a creator and visionary and his “one of a kind inspired pieces” brought much joy to many in his community. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, being outdoors, and spending time with his little buddy “Taco” (who misses him greatly, as they were never very far apart from one another). Ricky will forever be remembered for his quite strong nature and sense of humor. He loved telling jokes and recalling stories from his childhood that set his blue eyes sparkling as he remembered every detail. Most importantly, he genuinely loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all his heart. This deep love for his Lord was the foundation and anchor of who Ricky was and how he lived his life. Condolences directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home and Crematory at www.joyners.net.
