Richard Alan Carter

Richard Alan Carter, 69, of Wilson passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024. A celebration of life and fellowship will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 2 – 4 p.m. at Stoneybrook Christian Church, 3502 Airport Boulevard NW, Wilson. 

 Richard served his country with honor and pride with United State Navy for four years, he served on the USS Independence at the end of Vietnam. He was a jack of all trades, especially woodworking. He played the guitar and loved bluegrass music, riding motorcycles and working on cars. Richard served his God faithfully and was a member of Stoneybrook Christian Church. Richard was a wonderful father and pop and a loving husband who will be dearly missed and thought of often with wonderful memories.

 Richard is survived by his loving wife, Paula Carter; daughters, Victoria Bailey and husband, Todd, and Heather Braswell and husband, Tom; granddaughters, Hannah Crawford, Lyla Braswell, and Alyssa Braswell; step-granddaughters, Lexi Bailey and Abby Bailey; brothers, Scott Carter and wife, Pat, and Brett Carter and wife, Lisa; sister, Billie Jeanne Veasey and husband, Lynn, and his aunt, Lois Bartlett.

 He was proceeded in death by his parents, Roy William “Bill” and Jeanette Carter.
