September 23, 1938 – December 11, 2021

Richard Albert Claybourne, 83 of Fremont passed away Saturday morning, December 11, 2021. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. David Mortimer will officiate.

Richard was a retired Master Sergeant from the US Air Force after serving twenty-one years with honor and pride. He also worked as a mechanic in the maintenance department at the Firestone plant in Wilson.

Richard made a hobby out of doing his yard work and maintaining his vehicles. He also enjoyed his morning walks and loved reading and traveling and did his best to care for his loved ones. If they ever needed assistance, Richard was always available to help them.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Lanham Claybourne of the home; son, David Claybourne and wife, Stacy; daughter, Tracy Peets; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-children; thirteen step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marion Claybourne, and brother, Bob Claybourne.
