Richard Edward Pate November 9, 1962 – June 21, 2017 Richard “Richie” Edward Pate, 54, passed away Wednesday. His funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Kenly Cemetery. The Rev. Greg Barnes will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Richie is survived by his daughter, Jessica Galyen and husband, Mark of Lucama; sons, John Pate and wife, Caitlin and Dustin Pate and wife, Rebecca all of Lucama; sisters, Lisa Wells and husband, Lynn of Kenly and Michelle Kirby and husband, Runt of Black Creek; brother, Joey Kirby and wife, Michelle of Lucama; step-mom, Joan Lane of Goldsboro; step-dad, Joseph Kirby of Lucama; three grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
