Richard “Rich” Alan Scarberry, Jr., 55 of Wilson passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. The family will receive friends and family Saturday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Rich was a lifetime fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Browns. He was a member of the Wilson Moose Family Center.
Rich dedicated his life to making sure his family and children could live a better life. He was hardworking, funny and loved his family dearly.
Rich is survived by his fiancée of twenty-one years, Carrie Barberio; daughters, Kandice Scarberry, and Savannah Barberio; sisters, Bonnie Laurence and husband, Terry, and Teresa Scarberry; brother, Timothy Scarberry; daughter, Tiffany Scarberry and granddaughter; his grandson, Jamal Crumel, which was the apple of his eye, and several nieces and nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lawson; father, Richard Scarberry, Sr., and his brothers, Norman and Jamie Gallagher.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all the paramedics, and hospital workers for the care they provided during his time of need. Also, a special thank you to Weiner Plastics for all their love and support.
