Robert “Bobby” Fred Powell, 81 of Bailey passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Bobby loved woodworking, making beautiful jewelry, producing works of art with stained glass, gardening, and he loved country music, especially Willie Nelson. He worked at Wake Medical Hospital and Barton College as an engineer. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. Bobby was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Rebecca Ann Powell; daughters, Cheryl P. McCoy of Bailey and Cindy P. Steele of Lapeer, Michigan; granddaughters, Sarah M. Haddock and husband, Michael, and Abigail M. Myl and husband, Jason; grandsons, Joshua McCoy and wife, Nicole, John-Robert Cline, and Steven Cline; great-grandchildren, Isabella McCoy, Lincoln Haddock, Dawson Haddock, and Coraline McCoy, and his brother, Frank Powell of Durham.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Gayle Powell; son, Robert “Bobby” Hubbard, and his parents.
