Robert "Bobby" Theodore Varnell

Robert Theodore Varnell June 2, 1936 – April 17, 2018 Robert “Bobby” Theodore Varnell, 81, of Macclesfield passed away Tuesday. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. Rex Edwards will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of his son, Tim. Bobby is survived by his sons, Robert Leslie “Bob” Varnell and wife, Pat of Macclesfield, and Timothy Scott Varnell and wife, Camela of Wilson; granddaughter, Jenna Varnell; grandson, Adam Varnell, and his sister, Pearl Carraway of Rocky Mount. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Thorne Varnell; parents, Fred Jackson and Mamie Webb Varnell, and his sister, Emma Ruth Price. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed in Bobby’s memory to the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1815 Airport Boulevard West, Wilson, North Carolina 27893.
