Robert H. “Sunnie” Bulluck, 94 of Rocky Mount passed away Saturday. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Peoples Chapel FWB Church Cemetery, 6101 Stagecoach Road, Elm City. Rev. Michael Arthur will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Sunnie was born on April 30, 1929, in Wilson County and was the son of the late Franklin Pierce and Mamie Jane Bulluck. He was a retired tobacco farmer for over sixty-five years. He sold produce at the Rocky Mount Stockyard for over forty-five years. He loved to play the guitar and sing, particularly Hank Williams tunes. Sunnie loved to play and watch basketball in his earlier years. He was a member and deacon at Peoples Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Elm City. Sunnie was a kind and generous person to people he knew and strangers. He loved western movies, especially John Wayne and Tom Mix and the TV series, Gun Smoke. Additionally, he was a member of an antique car club and he owned several models through the years. He was also a member of the Wilson County Alert Team.
Sunnie is survived by his daughters, Brenda Briley and husband, George of Rocky Mount, and Connie Brice of Wilson; son, Bob Bulluck and wife, Sandy of Wilson; grandsons, Chris Briley and wife, Michelle, and Timothy Briley both of Rocky Mount, Troy Bulluck and wife, Arlette of Winterville, Drew Bulluck and wife, Leyla of Wilson; granddaughter, Nicole Perry and husband, Wood of Rocky Mount, and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Farmer Bulluck; son, Larry Lee Bulluck, and his brothers, Frank Bulluck, Jr., Richard Bulluck, Benjamin Bulluck, and Lee Roy “Scott” Bulluck.
