Robert "Bobby" E. Joyner

Robert “Bobby” E. Joyner, 79, of Wilson passed away on Monday, August 28.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 1 at 10:00 am at Maplewood Cemetery.  Reverend Clay Parker will officiate.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Bobby faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was deployed to Vietnam during his time of service.  He returned to the States and began a long and rewarding career in maintenance at Bridgestone/Firestone Corporation of Wilson.  Additionally, he was an avid golfer and member of Willow Springs Country Club.  He was also a longtime member of the Moose Lodge of Wilson.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret “Madge” Edmundson Joyner; sons, Brian Joyner and Drew Joyner and wife, Andrea; and grandsons, Ethan Joyner and Wesley Joyner.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Joyner; and brother, Larry Joyner.
