Robert Martin Gavin, Jr., 47, of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday.   A Memorial Mass will be begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Lady of Consolation, in Parkesburg, PA.   A Memorial service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  

Robert was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to all that knew him.   He will be greatly missed and thought of often with loving memories and warm smiles.   He was employed with Nexans in Elm City as a machine operator.

Robert is survived by his wife of two years, Debra Parker Gavin of the home; step-children, Shanna Hawley and Travis Hamm both of Lucama; his step-grandchildren; his father, Robert M. Gavin, Sr. of Gordonville, PA   and mother, Jennie Nolan Gavin of Sadsburyville, PA; his sister, Jennifer Gavin of Perry County, PA and his best friend, Anthony Harper and wife, Tammy of Black Creek.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Tate Gavin and a very good friend, ??Bill Bill-Jilek, that he loved as a brother.
