Robert Brooks Petway, Jr. September 24, 1954 – May 6, 2016 Robert Brooks Petway, Jr., 61, of Elm City, passed away Friday. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. Sonny Griswold will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson prior to the service. Robert was greatly loved as a brother, son, and uncle. He will be greatly missed. Robert is survived by his sister, Jean Petway Small of Elm City; his brothers, Bruce Petway of Rock Ridge, Dail Petway and Allen Petway both of Elm City; nine nieces and nephews, and ten great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Brooks Petway, Sr. and Bernestine Moore Petway.
