Robert Harold Sherrod September 2, 1976 - September 17, 2018 Robert Harold Sherrod, 42, of Kenly passed away Monday. His funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2018 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The family will receive friends Monday morning prior to the service from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Robert was a loving husband, father, loyal friend, Jedi Master and a devoted son. He never met or knew a stranger; his home was always open to anyone in need. Robert was a former paramedic with Stony Creek Fire and Rescue. He was a successful business owner of Sherco Enterprises, LLC. Robert was dearly loved and will be greatly missed and thought of often with memories that will warm the heart. Robert is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Susan Pope Sherrod of the home; his daughters, Meghan Sherrod of Comfort, Texas and Hannah Sherrod of Kenly; son, Hunter Sherrod of Kenly; step-daughters, Summer Ivey of Jacksonville, Heather Richardson of Kenly, and Misty Kornegay of Wilson; step-son, Bobby Ivey of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren; parents, Larry and Kay Sherrod of Sims; sister, Tracey Sherrod and Brad of Bailey; brother, Brian Sherrod and wife, Michelle of League City, Texas; paternal grandmother, Thelma Sherrod of Sims and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Hayden Sherrod; paternal grandfather, Harold Sherrod and maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Thomas.
