Roger Dale Harris May 6, 1954 – September 22, 2016 Roger Dale Harris, 62, of Wilson passed away Thursday with his family by his side at Rex Hospital. His memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends Saturday evening following the service and other times at the home. The Rev. Larry Massey will officiate. Roger worked at Firestone for over forty years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. Roger will be dearly missed and thought of often with loving memories. Roger is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Beverly Barnes Harris of the home; his daughter, Heather Harris Pate and husband, Darrell of Zebulon; his son, Dustin Shane Harris of Wilson; grandsons, Jackson Baxter Pate, and Tanner Barnes Pate both of Zebulon; his sisters, Wanda Harris Branch and husband, Roger of Belmont, and Chrystal Powell Maxwell and husband, Maxx of Stanley, and his brothers, Mike Harris and wife, Regina of Bessemer City, Sammy Lee Harris of Franklin, and Barry Powell and wife, Amy of Gastonia. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Abbey Cameron Pate; his mother, Helen Floyd Harris; brother, Wiley Joe Harris and uncle, Bobby Powell, who was his special father figure.
