Roger Gray Russell, Sr. March 5, 1938 – February 27, 2020 Roger Gray Russell, Sr., 81, of Wilson passed away Thursday. He was a devoted husband and father. He was also a faithful Pastor for 34 years. His funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Peace Church, Wilson. Interment will following in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Rusty Russell and Brian Tippett will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. at Peace Church, 2838 Tilghman Road North, Wilson and other times at the home of his son. Roger is survived by his daughter, Gwen Neal and husband, John of Nashville, Tennessee; son, Rusty Russell and wife, Kathy of Wilson; granddaughters, Jennifer Hartsell and husband, Keith, Abby Schickedanz and husband, Caleb, and Caroline Neal; grandson, Grant Neal and wife, Olivia; great-grandchildren, Riley Phillips, Grayson Hartsell, Tatum Schickedanz, Clive Neal, and Rooney Neal; sister, Hellen Harris and husband, Bob of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Howard Russell and wife, Grace of Wilmington; special niece Hilda Briley and husband, Charlie of Greenville.
