Ronald “Jay” Klutey, 45 of Wilson, formally of Henderson, Kentucky, experienced a massive heart attack at Wilson Medical and then transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Jay was surrounded by family and friends when he went home to the Lord on the evening of May 5th.
Jay was a special man with a big heart full of love and compassion, a contagious smile, a great sense of humor, a comforting hug, and always spoke words of encouragement. He was a man of honor with the utmost integrity and he was a forever friend.
Jay and Deana Klutey were married on November 22, 1997 in Henderson, Kentucky. They have two beautiful boys together, Tanner and Barrett.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana.
The Kluteys relocated to Wilson, in 2012 where Jay accepted a job at Hospira a Pfizer Company in Rocky Mount. He was a Production Manager of VISIV Filling Business Unit.
Jay was a devoted husband and father and was very active in his boys\' sports. He coached football at the Wilson Recreation Center, football and wrestling at the Spot and wrestling at the Back Yard Wrestling Program in Rocky Mount.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Joyce Charles Klutey.
He is survived by his wife, Deana Jo Stephens Klutey of the home; his sons, Tanner Jay Klutey and Barrett Dean Klutey, both of the home; his daughter Aubri Nicole Klutey of Kentucky; his sisters, Kim Watkins of Michigan, and Kathy Klutey of Kentucky, and his mother-in-law, Sharon Stephens of Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 9th from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. His funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th at Joyner’s Funeral Home, in which we will celebrate who Jay was as a man, husband, father, friend, and coach/mentor.
