Roy Lee Thigpen

Roy Lee Thigpen March 26, 1939 – February 13, 2017   Roy Lee Thigpen, 77, of Wilson passed away Monday. His funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.  The Rev. Bill Groce will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of his sister, Linda. Roy is survived by his daughters, Brenda Lee Moore of Wilson and Tina Bryant of Wilson; his son, Tim Bryant of Wilson; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Linda T. Garris of Wilson; brother, Danny Thigpen of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Kathy Thigpen, and his loving niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Williams; parents, Andrew Jackson and Mary Inez Thigpen, and his brother, Larry Thigpen. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials in Roy’s honor to the Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Food Pantry, 4828 Frank Price Church Road, Wilson, North Carolina 27893.  Condolences may be directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home at www.joyners.net.
