Rudy Arthur Lewis

Rudy Arthur Lewis August 20, 1946 – July 23, 2015 Rudy Arthur Lewis, 68, of Bailey passed away Thursday. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in Bailey Town Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Edmundson will officiate. The family will receive friends 5 – 7 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of his daughter, Carole in Bailey. Rudy was a loving husband and father, and had a fondness for cats. Old cars, motorcycles and car shows were a favorite of his. Rudy served his country with honor and pride during the Vietnam Era with the US Army. Rudy is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Vickie Cone Lewis of the home; his daughter, Carole Lewis Woodruff and husband, Randall of Bailey; his sister, Debbie Lewis Bissette and husband, Gary of Bailey; his niece, Robin Lewis James of Castalia; his nephews, Chris Bissette and wife, Angela of Bailey, Tracy Bissette and wife, Marsha of Bailey, Dustin Lewis of Bailey; three great nieces; three great nephews; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Pridgen Lewis of Castalia and Josephine Lilley of Bailey; and his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Cone of Waynesville and J.C. Cone of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Irene Tant Lewis and his brothers, Rex Lewis and Ronnie Lewis. Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
