Russell Wayne Hodges
August 1, 1951 – March 14, 2018
Russell “R.W.” Wayne Hodges, 66 of Elm City passed away Wednesday. His funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Donnie Price will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
R.W. was a railroad engineer with CSX Railroad and a faithful member of Rosebud Baptist Church.
R.W. is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Bonnie Rodgers Hodges of the home; his daughter, Tammy Michelle Hodges of Elm City; his son, Jason Wayne Hodges of Wilson; grandsons, Travis Austin Tant and Tyler Andrew Tant both of Clayton; sister, Yvonne Hodges of Wilson; brother-in-law, William Littleton Rodgers, Jr. of Rocky Mount; his niece, Sonya Regan Thompson and husband, Jami of Yorktown, Virginia, and his great niece, Ashlin and great nephew, Parker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Jeanette Braswell Hodges.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in R.W.’s memory to Rosebud Baptist Church, 4313 Rosebud Church Road, Wilson, North Carolina 27893.
