Ruth Daniel Granger Riley

Ruth Daniel Granger Riley February 12, 1920 – May 5, 2018 Ruth D. Granger Riley, 98 a native Wilsonian, went to be with the Lord Saturday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at First Christian Church, 207 Tarboro Street N, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. Blessed with an effervescent personality and a contagious smile, Ruth never met a stranger. From her servant’s heart she devoted yourself fully to her family, friends, and her Lord. Ruth was a lifelong member of First Christian Church and a trustee there. She also was bestowed the honor of Elder Emeritus of her church. Ruth is survived by her children, H. Garland Granger, III and wife, Barbara of Greensboro, Mary Ruth Granger Diffey of Charlotte, Sallie Granger Smith and husband, Gary of Greensboro, Sara Lynn Kennedy and husband, K.D. of Raleigh, and Thomas O. Riley and wife, Carol of Raleigh; daughter-in-law, Joyce Riley of Rocky Mount; sister, Dalen Saulter Bottoms of Wilson; seventeen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Garland Granger, II, and husband, Bruce Wesley Riley; her son, Robert Bruce “Bob” Riley; brother, Justus Daniel, and sister, Naomi Saulter Woods.
