Ruth Jenkins Joyner

Ruth Jenkins Joyner, 93 of Rocky Mount passed away Monday.  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.  Bobby Owens, her nephew, will officiate.

Ruth was a loving mother, nanny, sister and friend to all who knew her.  She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed and thought of often with memories that will bring a smile to your face.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Tricia Harris and husband, Keith of Rocky Mount, and Deborah McVeigh and husband, Tim of Wilson; granddaughter, Abby McVeigh of Snow Hill and fiancé, Dylan Costello; grandson, Hayden McVeigh of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Helen Owens and husband, RC of Wilson, and Peggy Roberson and husband, Eddie of Rocky Mount; sister-in-law, Alpha Jenkins of Elm City, and her grand dogs, Daisy and Josey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Buddy” and Estelle Jenkins; sister, Rachel Harrell, and her brother, Jimmie Jenkins.
