Sallie Ann Jackson Whitley December 31, 1939 – January 16, 2020 Sallie Ann Jackson Whitley, 80 of Elm City passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020. Her funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2020 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. Pastor Mark Uzupan will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 23, 2020 evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Sallie is survived by her daughters, LuDena Ann Edmondson of Wilson and Gay Whitley Joyner and husband, Allen of Elm City; grandson, Matthew Allen Joyner of Elm City; her brother, Charles Jackson and wife, Joann of Elm City and a host of loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Gay Whitley; parents, George and Lue Dena Nix Jackson and her brothers, David Jackson, Edward Earl Jackson and George William Jackson, Jr. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed to Life Church, Building Fund, PO Box 343, Sharpsburg, North Carolina 27878.
